About the Blog

Midlife in Mabank isn’t just a blog.
It’s a personal storytelling space where we honor what it means to grow older without disappearing.

Here, I share personal stories from my own midlife journey. Stories about learning to trade “anti aging” for authenticity, about celebrating grey hairs, setting boundaries, processing loss, and laughing through moments like crying over chicken, because menopause absolutely can do that to you.

This blog is rooted in lived experience. Every post comes from real life, from long marriages, caregiving seasons, shifting identities, health changes, grief, joy, and the quiet work of becoming yourself again in midlife.

Each week you’ll find…

  • Candid personal stories from my life and midlife experiences

  • Wellness tools that actually work in real life, not just on paper

  • Honest conversations about aging, caregiving, marriage, loss, identity, and joy

  • A safe, welcoming space where being older feels like a gift, not a limitation

Whether you’re navigating midlife with confidence or barely holding it together, you are welcome here. You are seen. You are not alone. And it is not too late for anything.

Midlife in Mabank is for women looking for personal stories about midlife changes and reassurance that this season, while different, can still be meaningful and full.

Let’s do this part of life together.
From my porch in Mabank to wherever you are,

I’m so glad you’re here. 💙

About Brandy

Hi, I’m Brandy. A wife, a mom to three, a Nana to one sweet grandbaby, and a woman living in the beautiful, messy middle of life.

I became a mom at eighteen, and for decades motherhood was the air I breathed. It shaped me, stretched me, and gave me a sense of purpose that filled every corner of my world. But as the noise softened and the house grew quieter, I found myself facing a question no one warned me I would need to answer.

Who am I now, when no one needs me in the same way they used to?

That question is what led me here, to Midlife in Mabank.

This blog is my open notebook and my heart on the page. It is where I share personal stories from my own midlife journey. Stories about aging authentically, finding new rhythms after raising a family, embracing grey hair, unlearning the hustle, and rediscovering who I am beyond the roles I once carried so tightly.

By day, I am a Respiratory Therapist with a background in Health and Wellness and a Master of Public Health. By heart, I am a storyteller. I believe in the power of reflection, sisterhood, and speaking honestly about what it really means to grow older. Not quietly. Not invisibly. But fully and with intention.

If you are navigating midlife and wondering what comes next, you are not alone. This season is not an ending. It is a beginning. And I am so glad you are here to walk it with me.

With love from Mabank,
Brandy 🖤
