About the Blog

Midlife in Mabank isn’t just a blog.
It’s a place where we honor what it means to grow older without disappearing.

Here, we trade “anti-aging” for authenticity.
We celebrate grey hairs, set boundaries, process loss, and laugh at things like crying over chicken (because, yes, menopause can do that to you).

Each week you’ll find:

  • Candid stories from my life

  • Wellness tools that actually work in real life

  • Emotional conversations about aging, caregiving, marriage, loss, identity, and joy

  • A safe space where being “just older” feels like a gift, not a limitation

Whether you’re navigating midlife with confidence or barely holding it together — you’re welcome here.
You are seen. You are not alone. And it’s not too late for anything.

Let’s do this part of life together.
From my porch in Mabank to wherever you are — I’m so glad you’re here. 💙

About Brandy

Hi, I’m Brandy.
I’m 50 years old, born and raised in South Carolina, and now living in a small East Texas town I’ve called home since 2000. I’ve been a respiratory therapist for decades — helping people breathe in more ways than one — and now I’m also a menopause coach, walking alongside women through the emotional, physical, and spiritual shifts of this season.

I became a mom at 18. That identity shaped my entire adult life. For years, I was “Mom” first — the glue, the planner, the rock. But when the kids left for college and the house got quiet, I realized I didn’t quite know who I was outside of that role.

Midlife gave me the space — and the push — to rediscover myself. Not the girl I used to be, but the woman I’ve grown into.
The one who’s still growing.

I’m a wife (married since I was 19), a Nana to a sweet and spirited grandson, and someone who believes in strong coffee, soft mornings, deep conversations, and loving ourselves loudly — especially now.
