About the Blog
Midlife in Mabank isn’t just a blog.
It’s a place where we honor what it means to grow older without disappearing.
Here, we trade “anti-aging” for authenticity.
We celebrate grey hairs, set boundaries, process loss, and laugh at things like crying over chicken (because, yes, menopause can do that to you).
Each week you’ll find:
Candid stories from my life
Wellness tools that actually work in real life
Emotional conversations about aging, caregiving, marriage, loss, identity, and joy
A safe space where being “just older” feels like a gift, not a limitation
Whether you’re navigating midlife with confidence or barely holding it together, you’re welcome here.
You are seen. You are not alone. And it’s not too late for anything.
Let’s do this part of life together.
From my porch in Mabank to wherever you are, I’m so glad you’re here. 💙
About Brandy
Hi, I’m Brandy… a wife, mom to 3, Nana to one sweet grandbaby, and a woman in the beautiful, messy middle of life.
I became a mom at 18, and for decades, motherhood was the air I breathed. It shaped me, stretched me, and gave me a purpose that filled every inch of my world. But as the noise settled and the house grew quiet, I found myself asking a question no one warned me I'd need to answer:
Who am I now — when no one needs me the same way they used to?
That question led me here, to Midlife in Mabank. This blog is my open notebook, my heart on the page. It’s where I write about aging authentically, finding new rhythms after raising a family, embracing grey hair, unlearning the hustle, and rediscovering who I am outside of my roles.
By day, I’m a Respiratory Therapist. I have a BS in Health and Wellness and a Master of Public Health. By heart, I’m a storyteller. I believe in the power of reflection, sisterhood, and speaking honestly about what it really means to grow older; not invisibly, but boldly.
If you’re navigating midlife and wondering what’s next, you’re not alone. This season isn’t the end, it’s a beginning. And I’m so glad you’re here to walk it with me.
With love from Mabank,
🖤 Brandy
